“The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night’s sleep.”

Pediatric Sleep Consultant
Hi, Im Elvira, the owner and founder of Supernova Sleep and mom to a busy and bright little girl. I'm here to share a little bit about what brought me to this work. My daughter was a terrible sleeper from a very young age. When the dreaded four-month sleep regression came, sleep was all but a memory. My husband and I took turns pacing her nursery, rocking her in the glider and bassinet, bouncing her, co-sleeping, stroller walks, and driving in the wee hours of the night. Absolutely nothing worked and we were averaging 2hrs of broken sleep per night. We were discouraged, exhausted, and frustrated. The pressures of being a new mother were compounded by my exhaustion and mounting anxiety. I did not realize that to show up as the best mother and human that I could be, my well-being and being well rested mattered.

It was clear to my husband and I that our baby wanted to sleep - she just didn’t know HOW to sleep. We turned to a sleep consultant for help and, as parents, it has been the best decision we ever made.
Within three days of working together, my daughter was sleeping through the night. We felt energized and empowered. Most importantly, we could really enjoy being with our new baby and spend more time with her, and less time searching google for answers and worrying about how difficult bedtime would be.

This experience motivated me to want to help other families feel this way; and so, I decided to become a sleep consultant. I want to be a source of support and encouragement for families who wish to teach their children the foundation and techniques to become independent sleepers; an invaluable skill that will follow them for the rest of their lives. I am trained and am still mentored by sleep expert Amanda Jewson.
If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably very tired, at the end of your rope, and out of ideas. I am here to help. Your family deserves to feel well-rested, content and supported. Keep reading and I’ll show you how you, too, can teach your little one to be a super sleeper.
My Approach
I’m never going to tell you that you must sleep train your baby. Every family and child is unique and what works for your family and your baby IS the right thing to do. But, if what you’re currently doing to get your child to sleep for naps and bedtime is no longer working, taking a mental and physical toll on you or your family and affecting how you interact with your child, I’m here to offer you help.
I know that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. My approach is evidence based, taught with respect and compassion, and tailored to your baby's specific needs. And together, we build a personalized plan. It focuses on removing assistance and sleep crutches that your child may currently require to fall and stay asleep. And provides you the tools that you need as a caregiver to empower your baby to become an independent sleeper. This isn't traditional sleep training. Teaching your child how to sleep independently doesn’t have to mean leaving them alone and involve endless hours of crying. The very opposite, this method allows you to connect with your child verbally and physically so they know that you’re there for them. Most children begin sleeping through the night within the first 3 days of implementing our sleep plan. I'm here to guide you and empower you with the tools you need to teach your child this invaluable lifelong skill.
A note on tears: there will be tears any time your child is learning a new skill and changing a habit. But it is temporary. And the outcome will be fewer tears as your child becomes a strong, independent sleeper.
